About Queer Quenchers
Queer Quenchers by Caffeinated Sapphic is a safe space to share LGBQT+ writing. Here, we welcome all queer stories and hope our audience something they can relate to. We’re looking for LGBTQ+ focused short stories, personal & non-fiction essays, poetry and film/tv/book reviews. If it focuses on queer themes, we are excited to read it!
Now, why would you want to publish with us? Queer Quenchers is a sapphic run publication that will provide empathetic and constructive feedback. Our main editor has 5+ years in the professional writing space, has spent over a decade studying storytelling, and writes their own creative fiction on the side. You’ll get marketing support from the Caffeinated Sapphic website, Instagram, Facebook, Youtube and Threads account.
Queer Quenchers provides a low-stakes way to share your writing and practice getting feedback. We know it can be scary sharing your work, but we will be your cheerleader. Our publication will help you practice writing, find an audience or have a creative outlet to share your thoughts with likeminded people. Whether you’re a new writer or seasoned professional, your words have a place with us.
Additionally, if you’re looking for your own writing group, we have a Discord group with all of our writers to have a space to share work with peers and get feedback from other LGBTQ+ writers. The best part? If you’re part of the Medium Partnership Program, then you have the chance to make money through every read your story gets.
Message From the Founder
Caffeinated Sapphic is the space I wanted growing up and wished I could’ve discovered earlier. Queer media has expanded and become more accepted over the years, but there is still so much more work needed. Many of the traditional narratives I grew up around had queer love as something that ends in tragedy. Lexa (The 100), Riley (The Last of Us), and Poussay (Orange is the New Black) all met the fate of the bury your gays trope. Even today, it can be difficult to find queer media with a happy ending on popular streaming platforms and bookstores. This lack of happy representation is what motivated me to start Queer Quenchers.
Queer Quenchers is a place where writers can practice submitting their work in a safe environment and get editorial feedback, while also providing readers a space to consume high-quality LGBTQ+ writing. I know when I first started writing, the thing I wished I had was a space to practice getting feedback to better prepare me for future querying and editorial work.
While the term caffeinated sapphic represents me as a person, with a love of coffee and women loving women, I want the page to be a place that highlights all type of queer media. There is no gatekeeping to queer love here, only keeping a space that is designed for positivity and inclusivity. We include content on coffee because I dream of opening up my own coffee shop combined with a queer bookstore one day, and am continuing to manifest that dream and share my journey learning how to publish my work and make fun coffee drinks.
I’m excited to see where this page goes, to create this pathway with my partner, and I hope people find a home within this little corner of the internet.

Thoughts from Cofounder Jess
At its inception, the brand Caffeinated Sapphic has represented my incredible partner, Jenn. At her core, beyond writing, her passions are informed by who she is as a queer woman navigating the journey of life fuelled by coffee.
To me, Caffeinated Sapphic encompasses a set of beliefs that inform our collective mission. The Caffeinated Sapphic brand is a representation of being energized and invigorated by one’s expression of self. We maintain a fierce belief in authentic artistic expression of individual experiences to create community and diverse representation.
Sapphic, queer, gay and a myriad of other terms are often used to describe communities with characteristics and traits outside of the traditional scope of societal normality for the given time. The usage of sapphic in the brand is a snapshot of self as well as the embodiment of the tender, warm love of women. This is not done maliciously to disregard other genders and identities, and our mission is to create representation and community across all genders, sexualities and identities to find belonging and create artistic expression out of their unique experiences.
Our goal with the Queer Quenchers publication is to create a curation of high quality, diverse queer content. Through this initiative, we aim to empower voices that have been traditionally silenced in an effort to improve representation for under represented communities.
